Get straight into the hills and enjoy a lovely long stretch of road that runs alongside a nature reserve. You’ll then cross Peaslake, mountain bikers heaven (be prepared, they might stare at the roadies in lycra 😅), before attacking some rolling country lanes.

After 38 km you'll find Heartwork Coffee Bar, a well hidden gem in the hills. It’s a converted barn with fairy lights and plenty of bike racks. Their flat whites are top class and go nicely with Bakewell slice.

Your next climb will be Leith Hill, after which you’ll cross a set of stunning undulating climbs.

Abinger road is our favourite photo spot on this ride.

More and more quaint steep lanes are waiting for you, with the famous Box Hill saved until the end. The climb is stunning in all seasons and the view at the top is well worth the effort.

As you know we often finish a ride at the pub, this time we went to The Bell at Fetcham. The food is great and they let us park our bikes in their beer garden (it’s much easier if you go when they are less busy, in the late of the afternoon). As always, book ahead and ask about bikes.

Enjoy the ride!
