Starting from Buckingham Palace, pedal to the cycle lane and cruise along the River Thames, heading across the Isle of Dogs to get to Greenwich. Before getting to the foot tunnel, don’t forget to check the view of Greenwich from the north bank. You’ll have to dismount to cross but once there you pedal all the way up the observatory, one of the best views of the city.
You’ll then head west across the city for the first coffee stop at The Dynamo (38km). Reenergise yourself with a vegan banana shake (The Sportive) and avocado toast. They have plenty of bike racks and a sunny terrace, a really cool spot for cyclists.
From here, enjoy a lap of Richmond park then make your way to Bushy by the river bank and Kingston. Plenty of deers to spot here, and one the best Strava segment names in London “Rimming Diana's Ring” (the roundabout with a pond in the middle of the park).
On the way back to Richmond, check out the view from Richmond Hill: you can sip an ice cold pint of coke from the Roebuck if you’re not in a rush. If you’re feeling peckish, head to &Feast in Barnes (78km) for a potato & eggplant salad. In the summer you can chill in their sun beds in the common.
Time to head back to the city and cross the river again. Next parks on the list: Hyde and Regent’s. While Hyde park is chilled, Regent's is the ideal place to see what’s left in the legs before going home.
Enjoy the ride!
