The London Gran Fondo

100 km | 62 mi. from Buckingham Palace feat. Tower Bridge, Regents Park, Notting Hill, Richmond Park & Hyde Park.

This route is not for speed, but it’s one of our favourites because of how it represents London: a melting pot of different cultures, architectural styles and iconic monuments. Topped up with laps around some of the best royal parks.

Rating > Intermediate

It starts at Buckingham palace, taking you straight along the River Thames for great views of Big Ben, Houses of Parliament and the London Eye. From there you’ll be heading towards East London to check out street art, markets and Tower Bridge.

Pass by St Paul’s Cathedral and Trafalgar Square before setting personal best laps around Regent's Park. After pushing the pedals, the pastel townhouses of Primrose Hill and Notting Hill are a great excuse for a little breather.

After 46km its time to refuel. The chocolate chip brioche at Les Merveilleux in South Kensington is the best and I highly recommend. You’ll need the energy heading towards Richmond and it famous park. An opportunity here for fast laps or a relaxing pace, you choose. This place is stunning all year round, but nothing beats the evening summer rides or the golden autumn colours with the deer antlers poking out through the fern while they graze.

We have included a little detour through Richmond riverside, one of our favourtie neighbourhoods in London.

Beautiful mansions, breathtaking river views and refreshments on the green... it has it all!

You can chose to have a snack, coffee or ice cream there (we recommend the cinnamon slice from Ole & Steen to take away and have by the river).

On a hot day &Feast in Barnes is a great place for a speedy lunch. They have the best veggie (and non veggie) food, and in the summer you can chill in their sun-beds on the common.

If it's a bit chilly and you’d prefer to sit inside, The Dynamo is the place to be for vegan pizzas and banana shakes (after 88 km).

You’ll then head back to Buckingham along the river but if you still have energy, don’t hesitate to deviate your route to explore the back roads of Chelsea.

Enjoy the ride!
