This ride starts from a car park by East Grinstead station, a really well connected train line. The first half of the loop will take you through the Ashdown Forest area, a beautiful patch of nature with relatively smooth tarmac. In Spring, the gorse paints the outskirt of the forest in bright yellow and you can’t help but spot the sandy trails, perfect for gravel biking.
Have fun going down Kidd’s Hill, but make sure not to miss the turning for the bridge at the bottom.
After 34 kms, there is a coffee stop at Perry Hill farm shop. They have lots of outdoor seating, rolling views and homemade cakes.
From there, you'll find more country lanes and rolling hills with some occasional flat segments.
As you know, we love a pub lunch, so finishing your ride at the Ship Inn (1 mile from the station) is our top choice. It has two big terraces and the staff are very accommodating with bikes. As always, we recommend you book ahead.
Enjoy the ride!
