Everything You Need to Know About the New Canyon Endurace Range (& five myths we hear everyday!)
Let's be honest... bike names don't always help. Aeroad sounds fast. Ultimate sounds like the one you should aspire to. And Endurace - that can sometimes sound like code for "comfort bike".
We've even had people tell us they assumed the Endurace was mainly for riders with bad backs - and the reality is very different.
The Endurace is Canyon's endurance road bike: designed to combine speed, comfort and versatility for riders who want to go a long way without feeling like they're sacrificing performance.
It's quick enough for fast club rides, comfortable enough for all-day adventures and capable enough to tackle everything from long sportives to rougher roads and light gravel.
So let's clear up a few myths and answer some of the questions we hear most often.
Myth #1: "The Endurace is slow."
This is probably the biggest misconception. Yes, the Endurace prioritises comfort and versatility over the outright race focus of the Aeroad or Ultimate. But that doesn't make it slow.
Canyon describes the latest Endurace as an endurance bike that combines comfort with speed, and the higher-spec CF SLX is designed around aero performance as well as all-road capability.
The difference is really about priorities.
You're not buying the Endurace because you don't care about speed. You're buying it because you care about speed over the whole ride, rather than just the first few hours.
Because if you're comfortable enough to keep riding strongly after four or five hours, that matters.
The Endurace is built to help you ride far, ride fast and still feel reasonably human when you get home.
Myth #2: "It's only for beginners."
Not even close. The Endurace might be one of the best first road bikes you can buy, but it's also ridden by incredibly experienced cyclists who simply value comfort over marginal gains. In fact, we'd argue it's the bike that suits the biggest range of riders in Canyon's line-up.
Buying your first road bike? Brilliant. Planning a week in the Alps? Brilliant. Riding 200 km sportives? Also brilliant.
Sometimes people assume they should buy the Ultimate because they're becoming a "better cyclist." Actually, the Endurace often remains the better bike, it just depends how and where you ride.
Myth #3: "Comfort means sacrificing performance."
This is where things get interesting.
The Endurace doesn't rely on one magic comfort feature. It's a combination of geometry, tyre clearance, frame design and Canyon's VCLS technology.
More tyre clearance
The latest Endurace CF and CF SLX have clearance for tyres up to 38 mm, while Canyon supplies them with 32 mm tyres as standard. That extra room gives you plenty of flexibility to choose wider tyres for more comfort, grip and confidence on rougher roads.
And yes, it means the Endurace can handle some light gravel when the route gets a little less perfect. It's still fundamentally a road bike, though. If you're regularly heading onto proper gravel, Canyon's Grail and Grizl ranges are designed specifically for that job.
A seatpost designed for compliance
The Endurace's VCLS technology is another big part of the ride. The idea is simple: allow the seatpost to flex vertically and absorb some of the shocks and vibrations coming through the road.
On the current Endurace CF, Canyon uses a carbon VCLS seatpost, while higher-spec models use more advanced versions of the technology. You don't necessarily notice it as a single dramatic moment while riding. Instead, it's the cumulative effect over a long ride: less harshness, more comfort and a bike that feels good when the road gets rough.
A more relaxed riding position
Then there's the geometry. The Endurace uses Canyon's Sport Geometry, giving you a more upright, endurance-focused position than you'd typically find on a pure race or aero bike.
That doesn't mean you're sat bolt upright. You still get a proper road-bike position - just one designed with spending several hours on the bike in mind. And unless you're blessed with the flexibility of a WorldTour pro, that can make a surprisingly big difference.
Myth #4: "All Endurace models are basically the same."
Not quite. The range is actually designed really well, with each model aimed at a different rider. The current range spans everything from relatively accessible carbon builds through to the £8,500 CFR flagship.
Endurace CF - from £1,649
The entry point to Canyon's current carbon Endurace range. You get the same basic endurance philosophy, carbon frame and generous 38 mm tyre clearance, but with simpler components and a more conventional cockpit setup. It's a very appealing option if you want a proper carbon road bike without immediately jumping into premium-bike money.
Endurace CF SLX - from £3,799
The CF SLX combines a lightweight carbon frame with higher-end components, carbon wheels, Canyon's PACE cockpit and LOAD down-tube storage. It's also where the Endurace starts to blur the line between endurance bike and race bike, with Canyon describing the CF SLX as combining aero race performance with all-road capability. For riders who want one bike to do a lot of things really well, this is the part of the range worth paying attention to.
Endurace CFR - from £8,500
This is the flagship. The CFR gets Canyon's highest-level carbon construction and premium components, including DT Swiss ARC 1100 wheels on the current builds. It's also deliberately more performance-focused than the rest of the range.
Interestingly, the CFR doesn't have the internal frame storage found on the CF SLX. That's a good example of the different priorities at the top of the range: when you're chasing every possible gram, practicality isn't always the first consideration.
Myth #5: "You need to know exactly which one you want before visiting us."
One of the biggest mistakes people make is deciding on a bike before they've actually ridden one. The Ultimate might look perfect on paper, and the Aeroad might be the bike your favourite YouTuber rides, but after twenty minutes on an Endurace, you might discover it's the one that simply feels right.

Canyon has made some genuinely useful updates to the latest generation.
Integrated storage
One of our favourite additions is the internal down tube storage, available on the CF and CF SLX models. It gives you somewhere to stash essentials like a spare tube, tyre levers and a CO₂ canister, keeping your jersey pockets free and your bike looking tidy.
It's one of those features that seems small...until you've lived with it.
Adjustable cockpit
Like the latest Ultimate, the Endurace features Canyon's adjustable cockpit. This means you can alter the handlebar width without buying a completely new bar, making it much easier to fine-tune your riding position as your flexibility or preferences change. It's great to see bike fit becoming more adaptable rather than expecting every rider to fit exactly the same mould.
Gear Groove compatibility
The cockpit also includes Canyon's Gear Groove system, giving you a clean way to mount lights, bike computers and even aero bars. If you ride sportives all year but occasionally dip into a triathlon, it's a really practical addition.
So...is the Endurace the right bike for you?
If you're looking for one bike that can genuinely do almost everything, we'd struggle to recommend anything else. It's comfortable without feeling slow, and fast without feeling intimidating. It's capable enough for big climbs, Sunday club rides, commuting, sportives and even the occasional triathlon. Which is probably why, despite all the myths, it ends up being one of the bikes we recommend most often.
